Midnight in Paris

Justin and I had an amazing date night in last night. We made pizzas, ate by candle/salt lamp light and then watched Midnight in Paris, one of our favorite films. It was such a cute, cozy date.
The crusts were Udi's brand and gluten free, so we added our own toppings and dug in. He had beer, I had wine. My pizza was definitely more simple that his with just sauce, turkey pepperoni, mushrooms, black olives, and banana peppers. I don't even know what all he put on his. Feta, red onion, pesto, jalapenos, kalamata olives, pancetta, and more. It smelled so good but had dairy in it, so I couldn't try a piece. Made the house smell amazing though! He adds some of the craziest stuff to his food and you wouldn't think it would work, but somehow it does and ends up smelling/tasting amazing.

We've been trying to have more little dates like this since Emmy has recently developed severe separation anxiety and someone always has to be home while we work on that (cleaning up a puppy's nervous poop is not cool). So a night in like this when she was tired and chilled on the couch for the most part was great and much-needed. We're so busy lately with his job hours getting bumped up and me looking for a second job, plus raising Emmy and just everything that comes with being an adult (who wants to go get my car tires rotated?) that it's hard to just have a date. We can't go to a movie or dinner like a 'normal' couple yet, so these cozy nights in, undisturbed are to be treasured.
